The project is in the land of Hmong and Lua Tribes. It used to called “Ban Chong Pha” or “Chong Phai.” They are Hmong people whose ancestors migrated from China during the time of wars in which people had to wander around in order to make a living and when they reached fertile northern Thailand, they settled here. Then they moved from that point around 10 kilometers and built houses and shelters properly and earned a living mostly from agriculture. The village was named “Chong Pha” or “Chong Phai” and was under the leadership of Communist Party during 1968 to 1982.Later lieutenant colonel Anan Phruekalp and a police named Mani planned to subjugate the communist and finished the plan well. The villagers offered their services to the police in 1984 and renamed the village as “Mani Phruek” which derived from the lieutenant colonel and the police up until now.Ban Mani Phruek is located at Mu 11 Tambon Pon, Amphoe Thung Chang, Nan Province.
