Ban Non Salao Silk Weaving Village

In addition to beautiful natural tourist sites in Chaiyaphum province, there is also a learning and cultural tourist attraction, where Khit woven cloth is valuable and renowned of its beauty and quality in Chaiyaphum. Non Salao Village is the largest Khit weaving manufacturing source in Chaiyaphum and a pioneer at the national level. This village is located at Moo 6, Tambon Nong Tum, where Non Salao residents have inherited culture and knowledge of Khit weaving since their older generations. Almost all of households weave their own cloths. In 1978, a housewife group was established and products with patterns and colors have been developed to meet the market demand. A wide variety of cloths have been woven for sale such as hand-woven cotton, Khit cloth, shoulder cloth and table cloth. Moreover, there are other household products developed from Khit weaving, eg, bags, pillows, male and female shirts, tissue boxes, etc. Their quality can ensure that its worth is many times more than the price. Additionally, the village’s unique way of life can be rarely found nowadays, including looms that are often made of wood and a weaving apparatus.
