Bamboo Ceramic Basketry Village

Bamboo Ceramic Basketry Village is located at Moo 3, Thung Maha Charoen Sub-district, Wang Nam Yen District of Sa Kaeo Province. The housewives of this village come together and form a group in the form of a cooperative known as “Chai Phatthana Women Cooperative”. They produce bamboo-covered ceramic products which are famous for its elaborate beauty. The president of the group is Miss Mud Suesud who learned the basics of bamboo weaving from her ancestors and practiced the skills with Grandma Pranee Bariboon, a lecturer at Burapha University. Miss Mud has advanced the skills in bamboo weaving and pass along her knowledge to the children and local people who are interested in the handicraft. Nowadays, the group has produced various kinds of elaborate bamboo-covered ceramic products such as vase and jug.Tourists are welcomed to visit the Bamboo Ceramic Basketry Village daily, from 8.00 a.m.- 5.00 p.m. To get to there, take highway No. 317 and turn right at the 120-121 km. of the route onto Talang Nai-Klong Ta Soon Road for 19 kilometres. Alternatively, at the 128-129 km. of the 137 route, turn right onto highway No. 3434. After seeing a police station on your right, enter the small road and proceed for 11-12 kilometres until reaching Klong Yai intersection.
