Thailand Cultural Centre

Thailand Cultural Centre is located on no. 14 TiamRuamMit Road, HuayKwang, HuayKwang, Bangkok. On the area of 23 Rai, this is the central of the cultural preservation and cultural prolonging both domestically and internationally. It is a place to held exhibition and performances such as concert, theater and also a place to held important meetings. The current director of TCC is KhunDaoladaPunvorn.TCC was founded on 19th July 1983 when the cabinet voted the Ministry of Education to take responsibility to build TCC with the help from the Japanese government. The Thai government was responsible for the land preparation public utility preparation and budget preparation.On 1st April 1985, Her Royal Highness Princess MahaChakriSirindhornlaid the foundation stone and named this place Thailand Cultural Centre. Then, on 9th October 1987, the King officially opened the Thailand Cultural Centre.Nowadays, the TCC is under the Department of Cultural Promotion and plays an important role in the culture and education support. Moreover, it is also the opportunity for youth and creative people who want to rent the venue to show their talents including all the international meetings.There are many buildings inside the TCC such as the main auditorium, theater, library, language room and the audiovisual aids room. In addition, there is also the “Thai Museum” which is located on the 2nd floor of the Exhibition and Learning Building. TCC exhibited about the Thai culture which is divided into the origin of Thailand, the rice culture of Thailand, Language and Thai literature, Thailand and the world, and lastly the historic event of Thailand. TCC is opened from Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A group visit is also available but requires a special admission request on Saturday or Sunday.
