Chet Khot Cave or also known as Sattakhuha Cave is located in the Sub-District of Nam Phut in the District of La Ngu. The cave is merely 2 kilometers away from Wang Sai Thong Waterfall and 38 kilometers away from the Kam Paeng District Office. The road leading to Chet Khot Cave has been recently made and leads from the main road, straight to the cave’s entrance. It is very convenient in terms of transportation and is accessible year round. The cave itself is 70-80 metres in width and stretches as much as 600 metres across the land. it can be divided into 7 sections. Certain areas of the cave are as high as 100-200 metres. The Manung canal which has its origins from Ton Cave to the north of PaaPon Cave flows through.Each of the 7 quarters of the cave offers different atmospheres. The Manung Canal flowing through bendy curves and around corners keeps the cave cool and gives a lively glimpse to the surroundings. Normally the water overflows from the cave and leaves the cave’s floor ankle-height flooded. During the rainy season or when they are flash floods, it is difficult for visitors to enter the cave as the water could be as 5 metres deep. Occasionally, the cave’s floor would be covered with sandy particles while later on it may be completely covered with mud. When visiting Chet Khot Cave, it is advisable to bring along a torch!The cave is very quiet, other than human chatters in the background there is only the peaceful sound of water flowing. A mesmerizing view, which usually attracts visitors to the cave, is the sparkly lights from bat eyes. When light hits the eyes of hanging bats, it reflects as thousands of little sparkles. Throughout the cave, there’re stalactites and stalagmites spread scarcely across the area. Arriving at the last bend in the cave, the 7th bend, visitors will start to see light from outside shining in. From the entrance of the cave till its exit, it usually takes only 30 minutes to walk through water and enjoy what nature offers.What makes Chet Khot Cave special is that it has a canal passing through and there are as many as 7 sections within. The 7 sections is where the name Chet Khot comes from. The name Sattakuha is a newer name, given within the past few years. Each of the sections has their own names including:The first section is called Sao Yim (Smiling Girl), the cave walls have got a greenish colour and is filled with stalagmites and stalactites.
