Nam Oun Dam

Nam Oun Dam

This clay Dam, managed by the government’s Royal Irrigation Department, was constructed to store water from a tributary of the main river, Songkram River, which originates from the PhuPhan mountain range. The large reservoir both supplies water for irrigation of local agricultural zones, as well as acts as a great aquatic sports spot. Surrounding it is the PhuPhan range and beautiful, lush forests. A small waterfall lies close to the dam outlet. To get there, head from Amphoe Mueang towards UdonThani for 57 kilometers and then turn left for 6 kilometers towards Waritchaphum.
